[00:00:00] Speaker A: On a ride. We clicked. The clicking is happening. Yep. Wow. [00:00:10] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, it only. We only had a 38 minutes lead up to this, so it's all good. [00:00:16] Speaker A: Well, I mean, it happens. There was things that were happening all over the place. You needed to listen to the fans for a while on the computer. You want to know all the happenings here in the house, my grandma. [00:00:29] Speaker B: I mean, you still sound like Max headroom. [00:00:32] Speaker A: Only to you, but to the listeners. [00:00:36] Speaker B: You sound like Greg. [00:00:38] Speaker A: Yeah, I sound like Greg, but just to you. [00:00:40] Speaker B: Just to me. Well, I mean, well, I have to listen to it again and again, so it's all good. Well, we're here, and this is funny book forensics, and we're part of the project Dash nerd.com website. Now, of course, you can always just stay on the feed that we have existed, or you can access that feed through their website and then listen to us on any of your favorite podcast players, including like the Googles and the YouTubes. And YouTubes. I mean, I listen to mine on podcast addict because it's an app you can download for Android. It's my favorite. I've been using that app forever. I think I paid like $3 for it or something like that. And it's been amazing. [00:01:20] Speaker A: You paid money? Dollars. [00:01:23] Speaker B: You know, sometimes you pay money for a good product and it's a good product. [00:01:27] Speaker A: It's true. You do. And when you like something, you pay for it. [00:01:31] Speaker B: And I'm not going to be locked in like, a Spotify ecosystem or ecosystems of other podcast things that just decide to go belly up and don't let you listen to podcasts anymore. [00:01:43] Speaker A: That's right. And with the thing I. The thing I like about podcast since you turned me onto a couple years ago, is that it's nice. It has the accessibility on many Android items. [00:01:59] Speaker B: Well, yeah, because you can just take the podcast feed if they don't have access to it. I mean, it aggregates, it looks through all the other, like Apple and all that for feeds to try to find stuff for you. But if it's not found there, you can just take the RSS feed, paste it in, and then it pops up. Pops right in and. Yeah, personally, I like that level of control. Podcast attic. We are open to sponsorships. You can reach Greg at the Retro emporium on Meeker street in Kent, Washington, on Friday nights, Saturday days, and Sunday days. In fact, you can reach him there on some days. You can even buy his book from him. It's called Absolute Zero's Camp launchpad. [00:02:43] Speaker A: Dan. He's my fan. [00:02:46] Speaker B: We're right there. I get, you know, I mean, I go back to last year when we went out all the way to, well, council bluffs, Iowa. [00:02:55] Speaker A: Yeah, council bluffs, Iowa, slash Omaha. [00:02:57] Speaker B: And. And you and Mike went to a couple of panels for 2 hours and left me at the table. And you came back and all of your books were gone. [00:03:06] Speaker A: Yeah. You had sold so many books. All the books. [00:03:09] Speaker B: Because, you know, it's not whole of money. It's almost like you'd sense that from doing a podcast. I can talk to people. [00:03:17] Speaker A: You just sold the world's finest chocolates as a child and had sales experience. [00:03:21] Speaker B: I don't really have sales experience. Actually, I'm a really terrible salesperson because I will come like, actually, I'm a terrible buyer. Right. If somebody tries to sell me something, they're like, oh, yeah. So it's this, this, this. And this is probably the price that makes sense. And I'm like, oh, okay. Yeah. That's a good logical argument. Um, sure. Cool. [00:03:40] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:03:42] Speaker B: So you just really can't send me around to do anything. Like, I'm like, oh, yeah, that does make sense. You should be paid. Let me pay you as much of my money as possible. [00:03:48] Speaker A: You're Jack and these are some beans. [00:03:51] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:03:52] Speaker A: Let me see this magic bag of them, Dan. [00:03:54] Speaker B: That sounds good. Yeah. [00:03:56] Speaker A: You want some beans? Cool. All right. Give me those gold coins. [00:03:59] Speaker B: And. And we're almost. It's almost like as bad, as good of a sales job as the servants of darkness in the legion of superheroes we're doing. [00:04:08] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:04:08] Speaker B: Because they seem to be walking away with all the product. [00:04:11] Speaker A: They are. All of them. Every single thing that they touch. [00:04:14] Speaker B: They haven't missed yet. [00:04:16] Speaker A: They haven't. I mean. [00:04:17] Speaker B: I mean, we did. We did, cap. We did capture a servant of darkness. [00:04:22] Speaker A: Caught. Yes. [00:04:23] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, we didn't. The Legion did. I believe. I believe the least worthy servant is to quote the servant, though I would think the least worthy servant would have been the one that ran into the polymer, the polymer schmear and died by getting hit with bagels in outer space. [00:04:48] Speaker A: Wow. A delicious death. So tasty. [00:04:53] Speaker B: It was a delicious way to go. Probably got hit with some of the everything bagels. I think they're probably a little bit more dense than just the planes, but yeah, it's so. Yeah. So I think this servant's better. This is a cool cover. It is. [00:05:08] Speaker A: There's a coburg on the bottom. [00:05:09] Speaker B: It's all in. I like this cover. Okay. Tell me why you don't like it. [00:05:14] Speaker A: No, I like it. I was joking. It looks like a coburg. I know it's a servant, but it looks like a coburg. I'm like, where's the tail? It's got to go back to its home and make another coburg. [00:05:26] Speaker B: Well, what are you talking about here? Which thing do you think is the servant? [00:05:29] Speaker A: I think it's. Isn't that. Isn't that a servant on the bottom of the bottom of the. [00:05:33] Speaker B: I don't think it is, actually. [00:05:35] Speaker A: You don't think that's a servant? What is that? [00:05:37] Speaker B: No, I think the servant or the villain. We. Who we don't know is in the middle, obscured. Right. [00:05:42] Speaker A: What's on the bottom of the page? [00:05:44] Speaker B: I don't. I think I know, but I think it's somebody who used to ride jet skis on tv. [00:05:49] Speaker A: No. [00:05:50] Speaker B: Like, Fonzie? [00:05:52] Speaker A: No. [00:05:52] Speaker B: Sharks. Well, the. Well, the good news is. Yeah. Just to describe the color verta, everyone, we are on legion of superheroes hash. 291, volume two. We get the logo, and it says, must face a sign of darkness dawning. And then we have, like, concentric circles, like, coming out from a figure who's obscured. And then all the legionnaires are in yellow and black tones with, like, the light coming from that power. And then there's a guy with white eyes and a beard at the bottom of the screen, knocked out on the ground. [00:06:27] Speaker A: It looks like a covert. [00:06:29] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, it could be one of the servants. I mean, I guess we'll find out. [00:06:34] Speaker A: Like, I'm like, what are we back. [00:06:36] Speaker B: In the ducks and our covers by Keith Giffen and Raphael Tango? [00:06:40] Speaker A: You're like, shut up. [00:06:41] Speaker B: I'm like, no. Selling it. Yeah, well, no, I'll sell it. I'll sell it if. I would sell it if I understood what you were talking about. [00:06:48] Speaker A: I'm talking. I'm talking destroyed duck. [00:06:52] Speaker B: Oh, okay. [00:06:53] Speaker A: That's where you're on the COVID You're. [00:06:55] Speaker B: Back on the destroyer duck. That makes sense. Okay. That makes sense. They're back. Yeah, well, yeah, I know who it is, so I'm not gonna say. [00:07:04] Speaker A: Okay, well, anyways, moving on. Okay, moving on. [00:07:08] Speaker B: Well, anyway, yeah, you're welcome. [00:07:11] Speaker A: That's okay. [00:07:13] Speaker B: You know. You know, if you were really delivering awesomely, you would tell the listeners when we talked about that. Which podcast? [00:07:20] Speaker A: It was a podcast long ago. [00:07:23] Speaker B: I see. [00:07:24] Speaker A: It was, like, 260 something. [00:07:27] Speaker B: And this is why I do the sales. So it's now like, we're at 240. No, we're not at 240. We're at 300. Like, 51. [00:07:37] Speaker A: Yeah. So it was 240. [00:07:39] Speaker B: Right? 352. This is 300. 5240. No, 204. You think it was in 200? You think we talked about destroyer duck 100 episodes ago? [00:07:51] Speaker A: Yeah. No, no, not 100 episodes ago. Maybe 25 minutes ago. [00:07:56] Speaker B: Okay. [00:07:57] Speaker A: 25. No, 2020 episodes. I don't know. [00:08:02] Speaker B: You don't know? [00:08:03] Speaker A: Time is a time, you know. [00:08:06] Speaker B: You know how you could find out? [00:08:09] Speaker A: Go to podcast addict. [00:08:10] Speaker B: You could go to podcast attic, our future sponsor. [00:08:14] Speaker A: I could go. I could go to. I could go to project Dash nerd.com and look back. [00:08:20] Speaker B: Actually, you couldn't, because I don't think you can look back there and take. [00:08:25] Speaker A: A look at forensics. [00:08:27] Speaker B: Forensics.com. Yeah. And you could look. Yeah. Like, back. Well, if it's updated sometimes. You could also. There's a lot of places you could look, but, yeah, that's neither here nor there. I mean, we don't. You know, we're doing a lot of advertising for podcast attic, and we haven't even got to the first. I am looking back, and, yeah, it was not that long ago. So our destroyer duck series was. It was from 333 to 338. So there were five episodes. So, you know, it was less than that. It was 333 to 333 to. I don't know what's going on. Um. 333. 334. Yeah, 333. One of them has a weird title. 333 to 337. Because 338 was about alpha dogs number four. [00:09:22] Speaker A: Okay. [00:09:22] Speaker B: Yeah. So it wasn't that long ago. That's what I'm saying. I was like, what are you talking about, dude? So I should have. So the moral of the story is I should have gotten the joke because it really wasn't that long ago when we were talking about those issues. [00:09:35] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:09:36] Speaker B: And you think we talked about it, like, last year or sometime? Well, it was last year sometime, but not. [00:09:42] Speaker A: Yeah, time in a. In a different. A different. A different world, a different life. [00:09:48] Speaker B: Well, anyway, we get to the first page, finally, of Legion of superheroes 291, with writer Paul Levitz and Keith Gif, artists Keith Giffen and Larry Maldstadt, Annette Kawicki on letters, Carl Gafford, colorist, and Laurie Sutton still editing this thing. And the lead editor, by the way, was Joe Orlando. How cool is that, by the way? That's cool. Yeah, I've never. That guy didn't do anything in comics. [00:10:17] Speaker A: Nothing at all. [00:10:20] Speaker B: You're just gonna, like. You're like, yep. Wow. So anyway, we get a sign of darkness dawning, chapter two of the great Darkness saga. And we start out with Shadowlass and Mon El and dream girl back in the medi lab together. Fortunately, they did not let brainiac five come in the medi lab at all. I wonder why. [00:10:44] Speaker A: Well, I mean, every time he comes in, there's something bad happens. So, you know, they. They're like, hey, we know you're super smart, but we're gonna let you stay doing whatever you do. Monitor the boards, look at the. Go play some d and d. Something else. [00:10:59] Speaker B: Yep. Yeah. Just stay away. Yeah. So we get the. The cool part is we get. They've analyzed the great darkness. Saw the great darkness. Great dark. That great darkness. They've analyzed the great darkness, and the story is over. They've decided that they can defeat it in one panel, and we're good. [00:11:20] Speaker A: This is a big man, dad Levitz. He could tell a story like nobody's business. One panel, and he's done out deuces. Drop the mic. [00:11:30] Speaker B: That is one hell. In fact, I have a friend, and we would call them Dave stories because his stories would be like, yeah, hey, guys, I went to this bar, and I, like, sat down next to this guy, and it was really cool. And we're like, okay, what happened? No, I just wanted to tell you it was really cool. I just had an accident. No. Oh, no, no. That's a different Dave. No, this Dave is actually. It's highly intelligent. He's a professor. But Dave's story, we just started coining them Dave stories because it would be like, well, I just went into this thing. I sat down and looked around, and there's some cool things on the wall. Like, all right, well, what happened? No, I just had a great time. Okay. Yeah. So, I mean, that's basically, we're done. You know, we made it one page in. We also call it the. Like, we also call it the episode two or episode one ending. Like, Count Doku was like a beast through all of episode one. And then they defeat him in, like, three minutes in the second movie. Like, that was, I think, you know, of all the terribleness of episode one, I think the worst thing about episode one was the first five minutes of episode two. [00:12:42] Speaker A: Like, yeah, you got this guy who's total ba. The whole. The whole other movie, and then, boom, done. [00:12:50] Speaker B: You know, and that may be a little bit of foreshadowing to what happens in here. A little bit. So let's. Let's take a look. So we got. Anyway, we find out that this is the ancestor named Lydia Mallor. So she was a shadow champion of Taloc Eight. It doesn't say that right there, but we learned about talak eight last time. Right? Because. Yeah, you're like, what's Talak eight. Remember? It was that world they went to where the servants fought them at the very end. Yeah. [00:13:17] Speaker A: And they're like, hey, this is your home. Yes. This is my home. [00:13:20] Speaker B: Yes. And so anyway, to summarize the lots of dialogue here, basically, like, shadow last is kind of creeped out because she's trying to figure out, like, why somebody has been dead for a thousand years, has come back to life. [00:13:34] Speaker A: How could they do it? [00:13:36] Speaker B: And basically, dream girl and Mon El find out that the servant has just sort of shut down. And Shadowlash reveals that Lydia Mallor was the first heroine of my planet, but she died, and that can't be her. And for future legionnaires, she actually dies. In Legionl dot g dot I, dot o dot n. Remember Lydia Mallor? And when did we cover those, Greg? [00:14:02] Speaker A: Oh, that was. [00:14:04] Speaker B: I'm just having too much fun right now, like, calling you back to these things. [00:14:09] Speaker A: That was actually four, five, six months ago. [00:14:12] Speaker B: You're, like, looking back, that was six months ago. Yeah. Yes. That was in episodes 320 and 321, when we covered legion number five and number six. That was before Lydia Mahler died. But we saw her in the book and remember, she was the one that was. The rest of them were all kind of, like, coping with the situation of dealing with Dox, and Lydia was the only one that was like, we're supposed to be heroes, damn it. She sort of. Yeah. And trying to maintain some sort of sanity in it all. She kind of comes across, like, storm in the X Men cartoon. Like, you know, I am the all powerful shadow person. Yeah. Well, anyway, she would read some of those books again. Well, the cool thing was giffen. Another cool part, though, right? Like, this is in 82, and in 89, Giffen called back to this piece right here and brought back that character, which I think is cool. So sometimes putting together the things, and she would die, too, so spoiler. I mean, a thousand years before. Now, I won't tell you how she died, but, no, she did die in the comic, too, so he held this at that end of it, too. Like, she died heroically in the book. Well, sort of heroically. What's it called when a kid kills their parent? Is that parasite? Parrot. [00:15:38] Speaker A: Yeah, I think, like, parasite. [00:15:40] Speaker B: Yeah. Her kid killed her. [00:15:42] Speaker A: Oh, dang. [00:15:43] Speaker B: Yeah. Spoiler. Um. Yeah. So weird, right? [00:15:47] Speaker A: Yeah, that's, uh. That's not Buenos. [00:15:49] Speaker B: No, that's. [00:15:50] Speaker A: That's, uh. That's not good. [00:15:52] Speaker B: Well, we go to the planet Avalon, so you can find out who was on the COVID And, uh, we. We. A servant ends up there because, remember, they were collecting, getting all those magic items last issue, and. And the serve it with the little scooter thing that rides in space, right? Oh, yeah, yeah. [00:16:10] Speaker A: Shows up. [00:16:12] Speaker B: Yeah. And he's like. And the servants like this. Now, now that. This was. This is the favorite servant, the sun servant. Remember? Now he's is. Let's see who's doing the monologuing. Is that the darkness guy, or is it the servant? So we've got such devastation in the midst of natural beauty. I like it. It's the cosmic irony that I should come here to this. A scene of failure to prepare for my triumph. He lies beneath the ruins, does he not? My most. Oh, it is. It's the master. Yes. My most loyal servant. Yes. Then bring him to me. Now, if you go back to which they should have referenced, I believe it's legion of superheroes 276. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe it is. They were on a planet, Avalon, which is randomly another Orando. We have a lot of Orando showing up. It's like a backwards world. [00:17:00] Speaker A: Just another version. [00:17:01] Speaker B: And the legionnaires were fighting Ramdur, who's. If you spelled his name differently, was Mordrew. See, it was an anagram. Yeah, and. Yeah, and then. And then. Yeah, not. Yes, and if also you went back there, you would have learned that starboy buried him underground, because that's his weakness. By dumping an entire building on top of him. So, yeah, it's cool. [00:17:27] Speaker A: Well, weakness to most people if you get buried by a building. [00:17:31] Speaker B: Yeah, well, and another storm reference, too. She's not so good with being buried. So this is. I think there's just a lot of that going on. But Mordrew appeared back in adventure comics. They fought him. It was. It was a Jim shooter. Pow, pow. I did it because you were. You were too slow on the draw. Yeah. And so there's. Anyway, the master sends his son. Servant. Remember, he keeps calling him his son. Yeah. [00:17:58] Speaker A: You are my son. [00:17:59] Speaker B: And he's gonna use the Astro force you've given me to take this guy out. And. Well, Mordrew. Mordru. I guess. I mean, Mordrew pops up, and he goes free. I'm free again. Thank you. Whoever you are. Mordrew is grateful, and for that, your death will be swift and painless. And he looks over at the servant, and he says, and there you are, little one. And the servant says, an ill advised presumption. And if I had a drink this morning, because it's morning this time, which I do not, we would get a crack a zam. And I would. I would take a drink, and we say, aye. Ah, he's screaming. And the servant says, you are. Or is that the servant or the master? I can't tell. It says, you are powerful, Mordrew, perhaps the mightiest of mortal wizards. But I am neither wizard nor mortal, and I am destined master of all. So it is, yeah, the master who live. So he basically takes, I would say the time Trapper might be the legion's most powerful foe, but he takes, basically. And that's an argument that giffen actually gets into later in Legion volume four of who's more powerful murderer, the time trapper in the five years later Legion. So, actually, yeah, I mean, anyway, mordors take it out in seconds. So this is a count doku sort of moment. [00:19:14] Speaker A: You've been so hard to do, defeat all this time. We can't defeat you. And it's like, well, I mean, he. [00:19:20] Speaker B: Was defeated by a building. Yeah, he was defeated by a building falling on top of him. [00:19:24] Speaker A: So they bring him back to fight him in d and d and stuff like that. And he makes those, you know? [00:19:30] Speaker B: Yeah. Maybe he rolled a one again. [00:19:32] Speaker A: Oh, dang. [00:19:33] Speaker B: Yeah, he's rolled a couple of ones now, which is not good for Mordrew, but. Yeah. Well, anyway, Mordrew's taken out. I believe this is who's on. If I'm looking at the COVID looking back, I believe that's who's on the COVID Okay. That's what it looks like. Yeah. But anyway, we are back, and we're at the earth main building of the United planet's government complex, and it's Chameleon boy talking to his public defender. Now, I feel like. I don't think they say it's his public defender, but I feel like his dad. Daddy. Daddy Warbucks brand. Right. Would get him the. The most expensive. I I feel like he probably could get an attorney that would. Would prevent him from going to jail. [00:20:21] Speaker A: But maybe he's. Maybe he's done that whole thing where he's like, I don't need your help, dad. I'm gonna do that. Got myself into it. I get out of it myself. [00:20:30] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, the attorney does tell him I'm a good attorney, but it would take a saint to get you off, so. Okay, well, uh, yeah, so. And Chameleon boys, I don't want to know the likely penalty. So it looks like chameleon boy is going to jail for starting an. Almost. Starting an interplanetary war, which does seem to make sense. I mean, if you almost started an interplanetary war. Perhaps. [00:20:54] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:20:55] Speaker B: Well, anyway, we're back. And to the servant who's in stasis, but isn't quite undisturbed. And then we get back. Yes. Yes, we get back. Are you ready? [00:21:06] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm ready. [00:21:08] Speaker B: We are in a meeting. [00:21:09] Speaker A: Oh, a meeting. I love meetings. [00:21:12] Speaker B: Because legionnaires have a lot of characters and we have to have meetings to get all the characters. And then they're like, ultra Boy wants to postpone the election because apparently Ultra boy now, after he's come back from the reflecto saga, now he wants to postponed meetings. And everybody else around them is talking about the servants and Sunboy and Starboy, the D and D buddies are wondering what's going on with Shady's ancestor. And brainy's talking. They're all talking. None of them are actually paying attention. And then a poor invisible kid, Jacques. Jacques Foca is like, are all the leadership elections like this? And wildfires like, you've not seen nothing yet. So anyway. And Ultra Boy is like, look, I want to be leader again. I've said it. I want to win this election as much as you do, element lad. But not by stepping on an old buddy. I say we stop everything and clear him. So he wants to wait until Chameleon boy's trial is over. And Ultra boy. Ultra Boy is completely out of touch. I would think we'd want to wait till this whole servant of darkness thing is, is taken care of. [00:22:25] Speaker A: But anyway, they got an issue, they gotta work through it. [00:22:29] Speaker B: And dream girl pops in and says, ahem, boys, let's not forget the better man is probably a woman. To Ultra boys comment that they want to elect the better man must win. And wildfire is going insane. Like, his energy's popping. He's like, you're really serious, dream girl. Next thing you'll know, crypto, the super dog will be running. Wow. Wow. [00:22:50] Speaker A: I think wildfire is a jerk. [00:22:55] Speaker B: Well, you said wildfire was most like David Hasselhoff from Knight Rider last time. Are you. Are you ready to change your opinion. [00:23:05] Speaker A: And call him somebody different? [00:23:06] Speaker B: Yeah. Or are we sticking with David Hasselhoff? [00:23:09] Speaker A: I mean, the hop. He, as you see him in real life, he's kind of. [00:23:14] Speaker B: Okay, that's fair. I have no idea what you're talking about. That's probably for the best. [00:23:19] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, totally. You should look at David Hasselhoff. Cheeseburger. [00:23:23] Speaker B: Okay, well, it's a sad video. And then dream girls pauses and she's like, I have a prophetic vision coming on. Just conveniently right there. And since all her visions come true, well, she kind of passes out and starboy goes crazy. Element lad can't control anything that's going on. And then Siobhan pops in and is like, Siobhan Aaron, the science police officer. And is like, sorry to butt in, but there's a major disturbance on talking attackron Galtos. That's the prison planet. And there are a bunch of prisoners that are free. [00:23:55] Speaker A: Oh, no. [00:23:56] Speaker B: And Avalon has noted them that Mordrew is free. [00:23:59] Speaker A: Oh, no. [00:24:00] Speaker B: So prisoners are breaking out. Mordor is free. [00:24:03] Speaker A: Oh, my gosh. Oh, this is bad news. [00:24:09] Speaker B: And then they're on page eight. And then we find out that Nura's sister is on Naltor and she's being attacked by servants of darkness. And then Timberwolf says, I'll tell you, block, our problems always seem to run around in packs. And block goes like wolves, my friend. He's like, you're so funny. So, yeah, we got our even comic relief on the page. So there's a lot going on. So Tacron Galatos, his marger is free. And if you know from the past, we got the preview. Remember the return of the White Witch? So that's Nura's sister, the White Witch. She was born without neutorian powers, so she went to study magic because she wanted to be. She felt, like, alienated as a child. Like she didn't have one of her senses. [00:24:58] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:24:59] Speaker B: And then back in adventure comics, she got trapped by an evil wizard who turned her into a hag and they had to go rescue her. And then she's helped out a couple of times here and there, but. Yeah. And of course, Misha. Misha mouse drew me a picture of. Yeah, maybe I'll put Misha's website if she's still drawing. Is she still drawing stuff or is she off doing her corporate stuff? [00:25:22] Speaker A: She's doing her corporate stuff. And then she's. She actually. She's hosting a rpg game that they're podcasting on. Dark Thoughts podcast. It's a gameplay group. And there she's running the game, right. So. [00:25:39] Speaker B: Well, there you go. Well, there's the advertisement. That's what I should post up. [00:25:42] Speaker A: Yeah, it's. I listen to it week. It's a. It's a fun. It's a fun listen to you. I know. [00:25:48] Speaker B: Or I should post the art she. [00:25:50] Speaker A: Made post the art that she made for you. And you should. You should post a link to their podcast because it is freaking fantastic. [00:25:56] Speaker B: Well, maybe I will. Well, anyway, you were disaster. Yeah. Well, this is. This is no good. Yeah, I don't know what you're doing there, but. Tacron Galtos. Tacron Galtos. Location classified. Principal prison and criminal rehabilitation facility for the United Planets. Largely automated, housing high security inmates from many worlds. It has recently been encased in a force field of brainiac five's design, devising for increased traffic control from Encyclopedia Galactica. At the moment, it's in shambles. [00:26:32] Speaker A: Oh, man. [00:26:34] Speaker B: So there's a couple of creatures looking like they're gonna pull somebody from one of the Green Lantern planets who I just totally blanked on, but it's one of the. While telling you, this is silly. But anyway. Oh, Zudar. Hey, he says it. Yeah, but anyway, ultra boy and I guess we are smart. We're sending Ultra boy and Mon El in to take care of the prison planet, which sort of makes sense. And you're the most powerful people there. And shadow lass. And then she uses her powers. And the guard. The prison guard starts screaming. The science police officer. Darkness. No. And they're like, what's going on? Why is everybody afraid of the darkness? And Mon El and Ultra boy go to work, like, trying to hem in the prisoners while shadow last puts up darkness shields and scaring everybody. And I'm not sure what phantom girls power set is useful for in this mission, but we do get a line from Mon el that says, if you clean up this mess, pal, I'll be your campaign manager. So they start to find out, and we get to a screen with the controller. Well, with. Sorry, I said it wrong, it looks like a controller. So controllers control space and time. And we get a line. When you think about how much trouble it was to track down the time trapper and pen him up in supposedly invulnerable inertron photon shield. Imagine what it took to break through. And we get that the time trapper is the supposed time trapper. I just want to emphasize that. Yeah, for Legion fans is bowing down on the ground and. Yeah. Uh, anyway, he's like, no, not the legion. And so apparently, uh, the great darkness also took out the time trapper. Oh, so it's taken out. Mordrew, take it out. The time trapper and computer was scared last issue, remember? [00:28:32] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:28:33] Speaker B: So the three most powerful. The three most powerful legion foes have been taken out by the Darkness Lord big Gordy. Okay, that's probably. I mean, I'm not how. Well, okay, that's interesting. And. And the kuns are sort of nullified too, right? But that was before the darkness because of all the shenanigans. So now, well, after their ships got taken out and. Yeah, well, we did see them, and they. With Harant. Haranth the horse. Yeah. [00:29:06] Speaker A: Yes. [00:29:07] Speaker B: Harant. Harant the New Jersey salesman horse. [00:29:09] Speaker A: We haven't. We just haven't seen them in a minute. [00:29:12] Speaker B: Well, we've got the sun. Darkness sun, servant of darkness. Sun is back on his thing. [00:29:17] Speaker A: On his moped. [00:29:18] Speaker B: And so what if we had a new show called President mom and servant of Darkness sun. [00:29:25] Speaker A: Oh, my gosh. Where they're like. It's them doing, like. It's like a. Like a rom.com. [00:29:34] Speaker B: Yeah, mom. Mom's fallen for servant of darkness, son. She's fallen for a younger man. [00:29:39] Speaker A: Yeah, it's a. [00:29:40] Speaker B: It's a total, like a thousand year younger man. Older. No, wait, she's fallen for an older. Wait, I've messed this all up. She's. [00:29:48] Speaker A: She's fallen, but younger at the same time. [00:29:51] Speaker B: Oh, no, it's like Encino man. [00:29:53] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's been around for ages, but he hasn't aged. She's no. She's no spring chicken, but she still has the moves. [00:30:04] Speaker B: It's president mom and servant of darkness. [00:30:07] Speaker A: Son coming this fall. [00:30:09] Speaker B: Hmm. And it'd be like the theme from Jake and the fat man. No, wait, no. Oh, okay. Well, anyway, you're, like, one of the worst television shows of all time. A relationship, in my humble opinion. Well, anyway, yeah, I ruined it. Sorry. You tried to gaze upon the master, fool. And so anyway, ultra boy tries to use his Penetra vision, and that's how he can be in the legion, right? Because that makes his powers unique. Because he can see through lead. Because x ray vision cannot see through lead, but Penetra Vision can. Yeah. So he tries to look through the boot. The. Oh, I almost said. Said something badly. Huh? He tries to look through the. The warp thing. [00:31:00] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, the warping. [00:31:02] Speaker B: The warp thing. [00:31:04] Speaker A: Yeah, the warp thing. [00:31:06] Speaker B: Yeah. And tries to gaze at the. The master. And the servant does not get happy. He's like, you've tried to gaze upon the master, fool, and no mortal maid do unbidden and live. And, uh. Oh. Um. So shadowlass uses the darkness again, and, uh, mon el flies into it to try to be up the servant, and comes out with his entire uniform ripped up. [00:31:30] Speaker A: Oh, dang. [00:31:31] Speaker B: Uh, not so good. And now we've got Arg's and eyes and all sorts of things happening and a lot of kirby. And a whole bunch of kirby crackle. [00:31:39] Speaker A: This page would have made you drink a lot. [00:31:41] Speaker B: Yeah, uh, do you know how to. Maybe that's why I don't have a drink this time. Do not imagine you have escaped my notice. Fools and the servants blasting everybody. And now it's like, now mon els back. He's like, whatever you are, you just made a major mistake. Those two ladies happen to be very dear to us. That means no more mister nice guy. I didn't know he was being a nice guy before, but that's okay. So they're blasting with flash vision and heat vision, and the servant starts screaming, master, master, save me. And he goes back through the warp and it fwooshes closed. And we get back to the time trapper, the supposed time trapper, and he's saying, darkness, no, don't take the strength. Don't, don't. And so, okay, well, so the servants of darkness have defeated the two most powerful enemies and escaped again. And Shady says, shadowlass says, whoever the creature's master is, his power is enormous. [00:32:41] Speaker A: Oh, boy. [00:32:42] Speaker B: So here we're back to legion headquarters, and Superboy is talking to Saturn girl, and we find out there's no change to the electrical fever in lightning lad's brain. So, no change. And Superboy says, in fact, I'm heading back to the, to my century to celebrate their wedding anniversary with them. And that makes Satyr girl start crying. And she goes back in and she says, I couldn't tell him, but, lord, the history books show that the Kents died of a mysterious fever exactly like this one. So there we go. Well, now we're back to Avalon, and we've sent a team of wildfire and Dawnstar and Timberwolf, element lad, brainiac five. And of course, we sent Starboy because he buried him last time, right? [00:33:32] Speaker A: Yeah, of course. Makes no sense. Send him. [00:33:36] Speaker B: And we do get an element lad saying something about being leader. And Timberwolf says, stop campaigning, element lad. We don't care how well you chose the team for this mission. Besides, who do you think Nura Thoudee, dream girl, would have run for leader? Would have run for leader, unless she foresaw herself winning. And then he goes, oh, no, never thought of that. So Timberwolf, not the brightest of the legionnaires, but he always seems to come in with some, like, subtle logic at times when things are going haywire. And the whole group gets out of the shuttle and they find Mordrew in a pit, kind of like Chris Pratt. And, yeah, if he. Who for the. Everybody that gets the parking. Yeah, maybe. Yeah, he's gonna have to live in the nurse's house for a long time. Oh, man, it's just not getting. And he's going dark. So cold. And so Mordrew, this is why I think it's the COVID image, because that sort of looks like the COVID image down there in the corner. And Mordrew got taken out and Starboy's chides element lad, because, you know, his girlfriend is running against him for leader. He says, well, my lad, got a logical explanation for this, or did you miss this little possibility in your plan? [00:34:54] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. [00:34:55] Speaker B: And then since cosmic boy isn't here with them, we've got brainy to pull them back in, you know, because brainy would never. Yeah, but he's like, I think this is hardly time for joking, Starboy, has it not struck you that Mordor's babbling indicates that this is the most probable, probably a result of the efforts of the servant of darkness or their master, who we know nothing about except for the solitary chilling fact that he seems capable of casually stealing the powers from our deadliest enemies for his own use. So, yeah, fantastic. This is not looking great. No, well, another team goes to Naltor, probably the least powerful of the groups, which does make sense because it's based off of one of the prophetic visions of dream girl. And of course her visions always come true. [00:35:41] Speaker A: Yeah, she's gonna go see some family there. [00:35:44] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, her visions come true almost as often as you bang your desk. Sorry, dude, but it's, uh, so. Well, I'm sure the listeners love the sud. Sud. Sud of Greg. I mean, if you didn't do that, they wouldn't know you were here on the podcast because I'm talking way too much. [00:36:00] Speaker A: So I throw in little, little bits here and there. It's hard, you know, you're just going to cut out my talking when I talk over you. [00:36:08] Speaker B: That's true. [00:36:08] Speaker A: So you cut out the noises. [00:36:11] Speaker B: I don't do that, actually. No, I'm not going to sit there for an hour. I will happily hand the podcast to you after I've edited it and you can go step by step and cut out every time you hit the desk. [00:36:25] Speaker A: I'm glad you don't do that because boy oh boy, a lot of thudding on the desk. [00:36:30] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, anyway, we get a team of dream girl, light lass, invisible kid, sunboy, and, and block, block, my favorite. I know. And we get the, we get the white witch and she appears in a fashoom. So we've had to take another drink, I think. And there she is just levitating. Cause she's magical. And Block also seems to think that she is magical, as he says. I was not aware the humans were so, so magical. Yeah. And she introduces herself. I'm a Masa Nura's sister, the White Witch. And of course, we'd seen her getting attacked by the vision showed her getting attacked by the servants of darkness. So as Dreamgirl is explaining the premonition, the servants of darkness come and attack the white witch. So. And we get the one, we couldn't figure out who it was. The one with the big, shiny, sparkly head. [00:37:31] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:37:32] Speaker B: And the servant is. He's like, captured. The white Witch is taking her. [00:37:37] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:37:38] Speaker B: And he's. He light lass steps in because with her super high important powers of gravity, which should be really powerful. But you would. You think. But he. She makes the servant super lightweight, so he'll float away even though he's already flying. But that's. That's fine. And then. Yeah, and block apparently hits the thing. So, yeah, the servant. And then sunboy is shining some light and, ah, the servants don't like the light power. So what we've learned this, this, this issue is they don't like Sunboy very much and they didn't like the, the heat vision and the ultra vision. Yeah. So flash vision. Sorry, I don't mess up. Got a mess that can't, can't say ultra boys powers long. We got Penetra vision and flash vision. Now, here's a question for you. Does monel have x ray vision or does he have x ray vision and heat vision? Because wouldn't the x ray vision be hot? [00:38:37] Speaker A: Be hot? [00:38:37] Speaker B: I don't know. I mean, I get x ray and it's not too hot, but I'm just, just tossing out the question. [00:38:43] Speaker A: That's a good question. Maybe one of our listeners can tell us if they know how x rays work. I mean, they always put the. They always. They. I mean, my assumption is the x rays, if you're exposed to it of time, then you probably feel the heat, but. [00:38:59] Speaker B: Or if they were powerful enough, powerful because they are radioactive. [00:39:03] Speaker A: Yeah, you would feel the heat, but at the same point, there low enough dosage of radiation that you're not going to feel the heat. But at the same point, if you're, like you said, if it's high enough, you would. So, I mean, depending on what he's throwing for power, it may be. It may be. [00:39:21] Speaker B: So it could, could be. [00:39:23] Speaker A: Maybe that's how he does work. I mean, it's the same. It's the same power. It's just like a. Like a microwave setting, you know? [00:39:31] Speaker B: Yeah. So a bad. A badly trained, a badly trained Kryptonian or Daxomite wouldn't be able to use their x ray vision very well. [00:39:46] Speaker A: Mm hmm. Yeah. [00:39:47] Speaker B: And then they get better at it, perhaps. Well, anyway, we get at the bottom of the page, an invisible kid's like, there's one of the warps servant uses to travel between worlds. Perhaps now I can fulfill our plan and track them back to their source. And invisible kid's gonna get invisible, and he's gonna walk in, and. I don't think this was the best choice. [00:40:09] Speaker A: You don't think so? Cuz, like, he gets invisible and he goes. It's like, yeah, just because everyone else can't see him, you think he might be seen by other things. [00:40:21] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, invisible kid goes into the warp and he sees the master, and the master's like, so they send a child to me. Yes, I can see you, presumptuous one, and see your soul as well. I shall grant you the favor you desire, Jacques Volcarre, for it is the way of gods to grant boons to mortals of courage. I shall deign to let you gaze upon me, a rare honor for a mortal, but I prefer you accept your homage to on your knees. And some I beams come out of a kind of rocky looking figure. And as Sunboy is blasting the servant, he just yells, master, master, master. And the servant's like, yes, little mockery. I think we shall depart. The woman is not worth even this trivial struggle. That's interesting. So he's been able to take out all those other villain or all the villains, but they can't take out the white witch. [00:41:18] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:41:19] Speaker B: Oh, because she's got all these people helping. [00:41:21] Speaker A: Right, so it's a Scott. It's not just her power, but all the rest of the. They're overpowered by the rest of the league. [00:41:28] Speaker B: Yeah, but this is the first time the servants have failed. [00:41:31] Speaker A: The first time the servants failed. But also the first time the master's been seen. [00:41:36] Speaker B: Yes, it's the first time the master's been seen. And it's the first time that the servants have failed. And they failed to get the White Witch they could remember. They took all the other magical artifacts they wanted and defeated Mordor. Well, the warp's dissolving. And then we get invisible kid over in the corner, and he's going, darkness. So cold. And block is like. I believe our newest legionnaire requires medical attention, although his body seems unharmed. And we don't get to find out who the master is, because invisible kid passes out and dream girl fades into one of those prophetic visions again. And she says, I just got another prophetic vision of the sorcerer's world and the Legion battling the servants again. And I saw us lose. [00:42:28] Speaker A: Oh, snap. [00:42:29] Speaker B: And we get next. And we get next. Darkness, transcendent. And they, and it says, I actually don't like this line here. It says, if you're not on the edge of your seat already, you've got nerves of steel. I actually don't like that. I want. I wanted to leave just where they left it. You don't need. I don't need a Paul Levitz. I don't need an editorial comment here to tell me that I already am on the edge of my seat. [00:42:52] Speaker A: I'm on a stool right now. So, yes, the edge of the seat is where I am. I have no. No other. It's just nothing but the edge. That's all I got. And I am. I am itching and ready for the next one. [00:43:05] Speaker B: Yeah, well, solid. If you. We get a letter page and we get a letter page. It's all about the DC best of DC blue ribbon digest number 24, where the legion appeared. And we learn about, like, the school for supervillains and all sorts of fun stuff. But we didn't get comment on some of the past issues, which is different. So tell me more. [00:43:29] Speaker A: Yeah, what is that? [00:43:31] Speaker B: But we did get a comment on. I'll tell you about that some other time. Well, it was all about colossal boys. Colossal failure, too, so. [00:43:41] Speaker A: Oh, man. Did he fail. [00:43:43] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. I mean, in general. Just life. [00:43:46] Speaker A: Is mom disappointed? [00:43:47] Speaker B: Yeah, usually, you know. [00:43:49] Speaker A: Is your mom disappointed with his son? [00:43:51] Speaker B: No, president. Mom loves her baby boy. Always. [00:43:55] Speaker A: My big baby. I love him. So he's a big failure. But that's okay. That's the way it goes. [00:44:01] Speaker B: No, I'm basically. It was the first appearance. Well, not the first. Excuse me, not the first appearance, but it was the first more established appearance of the legion of supervillains, which it's conveniently brought back here in the digest because legion of supervillains will reappear in the first five issues of volume three when they go to the direct format. Right. So, yeah, again, it's. Levitt's using his editorial control at DC to pick which stories are going in the digest based on what he plans to do with the writing later, which I think sometimes it's nice to have. Yeah, sometimes it's nice to have an editor also writing one of your main books because they can control what goes on there. So. And then choosing to publish it in the letters column, too, to get people talking about this thing. He knows he's planning in 1984, this is 82, but they're planning way out ahead. [00:44:56] Speaker A: And that's cool. Yeah. You put it in there so that people can talk about it, and then you find out what they're talking about later when you check the Internet and see what they're talking about in 1982 on the Internet. And it's. I mean, I bet you 1982 Twitter is just bonkers. [00:45:10] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:45:11] Speaker A: Again, you're like, whatever. [00:45:13] Speaker B: Yep. No, I know. I think you're absolutely right. No, that was a. Yeah, I was thinking. I was thinking, too. Like, it's just, this is just how social media was then, right? [00:45:22] Speaker A: Yeah. No, I could imagine, though. Like, just imagine what. Because for. For those listening that did not grow up in this era, and we were just young kids, but I know, like, for a fact, like, my, uh, my uncles were young. You know, they were in their. Their late teens, early twenties around this time. And a lot of this was when they were reading this stuff and talking about it. Uh, it was, it was hanging out at the, like, the quote unquote pharmacy that sold comic books and ice creams, you know, and stuff like that that they would go to when they were, like, either just, like, out of high school, but still, like, too, too young to go to a bar or whatever, but they would get there, hang out and talk about stuff before they would go and hang out at a kegger or something. I'm sure. [00:46:12] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:46:13] Speaker A: And. And they would be, like, talking about the comics, and, like, they would buy me a candy bar, and I would listen to them talk about stuff. And this is where I get my news about something. They were eating, you know, as a four year old, five year old, and they would be, like, jamming around about whatever, because they were like, oh, did you hear about whatever? I fond memories of that kind of thing back in the early eighties, and it's like, it's interesting to think back to a time before we had this social media where people just get on there and just either pan or talk about how much they love something. [00:46:54] Speaker B: Yeah, well, and in this case, we do get a reference to something really cool. George Perez in that best of DC 24 drew a whole bunch of costumes and legion characters. [00:47:06] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:47:06] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:47:07] Speaker A: And you get to see a new costume change lineup. [00:47:10] Speaker B: Yeah, well, that we don't actually ever use, but it's cool. Also, they mentioned that Carmine Infantino might show up again as a artist, which, God, I hope not, because agreeing with us. He says the only noteworthy, he says they're critiquing the recent story. They said the only, he says. As for Paul Levitt's framing story, it was interesting as a novelty story. This is in there, but it couldn't hold a candle. The shooter's epic, the only noteworthy aspect of this story was getting carmate infantino to draw it again, not liking that either. [00:47:48] Speaker A: So yeah, it was. [00:47:51] Speaker B: And this guy wants it. He wants more Carmine infantido. And you know, I am tired of Andrew J. McLini from 1511 Illinois Avenue, Lansing, Michigan, 48906. And some of the older legion fans writing in here just picking on Paul Levitz, saying his stories can't hold a candle to the Jim shooter stories. It's like, I mean, no, well, and I just, I bring it up because we were talking about social media and in comes the toxic fandom here too. Right? And I, I like how Levitz confronts the toxic fandom head on, though, by letting folks have the letters in there because he's not ignoring what's going on. Yeah, yeah. [00:48:30] Speaker A: He could easily just filter them out, but he's putting them up there. All right, fine. You don't like what I'm doing, cool. We'll let you air it out and I'm gonna still do what I do. You cannot like it, but, and all, and I'll maybe make some changes here and there, but I'm not gonna let what you say affect me a hundred percent. [00:48:49] Speaker B: And I, 10%. And I can also go on Facebook right now and see people going, well, the Bendis Legion wasn't what I read in the Paul Levitts days when those were, you know, so it's like, it's it all, it all comes around. [00:49:03] Speaker A: Oh yeah. [00:49:04] Speaker B: But also to acknowledge this is early in the Levitts run too. And it's interesting. You've got the old fans bitching about Levitz as the book ascends to the number two seller in DC. [00:49:15] Speaker A: And I would say probably too, that, I mean, to, that you're going to have people that hate it buy it just to see where it's going because they're intrigued enough and interested enough to see where it's going. They don't have a way to, they don't. The only way to find out is to buy it. You don't at this point, at that point in time, there's no, there's, there's nowhere to, to go to, to see. So you gotta buy it to read it to see where it's going and then to find out how other people feel about it to read the letters page. And if you're trying to read it at the newsstand or other places, I mean, at that point, they're telling you, get out of here. [00:49:53] Speaker B: What? I think the other, the other, and we'll get into the backup story here in a second. But I think the other interesting thing is the legion is now being used to sell the b books like Flash, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern, which is interesting to think of it that way. Right? Yeah. Superheroes in solo. Don't forget we've got the legion. But you do have the Flash and Wonder Woman and Green Lantern, too, don't forget. Yeah. Well, we do have a backup story, and we changed artists, so we've got Howard Bender, who Levitt says is going to be the permanent backups artist for a while. I don't remember how long Howard Bender stays in. I don't think it's that long, actually. And Roden Rodriguez, who I don't know anything about as the anchor with Janice Chang on lettering and Carl Gafford coloring again, Laurie said it editing. And we're going to tie up that story plot that was mentioned in the beginning and that's been floating around. And I actually hate the story plot, so I'm glad it gets wrapped up here, this subplot. So we get Saturn girl fawning over lightning lad, feeling helpless, and she's like, if I can't help this sort of thing, she's feeling powerless because she's a telepath and she can't cure a brain, brain injury, which is, and I actually, again, we're going back to this. I hate this use of Saturn girl because she's always been like, the sort of, like, stalwart female aggressive on the team and not super aggressive, but in the sense of like, she's got an offensive power. [00:51:24] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:51:24] Speaker B: A lot of the women in the silver age lead did not have offensive powers. Right. They were defensive powers. Right. Like Phantom Girl and shrinking violet and triplicate girl, who can change into three. I guess that can be an offensive power, but it's more like the sit in the back powers. And then saddle girl, though, she could take somebody out with a thought. No pun intended. Right. Yeah. That's cool. And we're going to see a lot more of that character development under the Levitz regime. And I've pointed out already, too, Levitz spends a lot of time developing the original three founders. Right. Both giving them very distinct personalities and also has them work together often. So cosmic boy, Saturn girl and lightning lad. So I think that's really cool. But she does try to go into his mind, and we get a little recap of him being the legion leader, going to lots of meetings and being concerned about the meetings, and she says, I just don't know how much that helped me, but it made me feel better to try. Well, thank you, because you gave us that little recap, so that was cool. And even the reminder of her and Timberwolf on the asteroid. And then cosmic boy jumps in, and he says, sorry to interrupt, Saturn girl, but all three teams have reported safe, reported safe conclusions, their missions, although with disturbing news as well. And she's like, what can be more disturbing than what's happening here right now? And then we see cosmic boy getting attacked and oh no. And Saturn girl rushes out, but lightning lad's like, hey, don't go, don't go. And so we've got the serdon of darkness dragging Cosmopolitan around the room, and he hurls a bunch of junk at her with his magnetic powers, and she attacks him with moving shadows, which is something that Lydia Mallor will take on back, or her her daughter will take on. I may be messing it up. Was it Larissa or Lydia we dealt with? [00:53:24] Speaker A: I don't know. [00:53:25] Speaker B: Now I'm getting them confused. One's the mom and one's the daughter. So it may have been Larissa, and then Lydia was the daughter that kills the mom. But anyway, that wouldn't make her the first, though. So now I'm really confused. I think it's Larissa is the first. I think I messed it up, but anyway, it doesn't matter. You know what? You have to go back and listen to that episode and figure that out. I'm probably messing up the names and allegiant fans, like, in a, like, pummel me right now because they're like, why can't you remember this in the moment? Well, I priority messed it up earlier in the podcast, but it doesn't matter because we got the servant of darkness, and we've got two of the founders fighting the servant of the darkness while the other one is helpless in another room. And, and she's like, my telepathic calls can't get him in here. And he does wake up enough upon getting the signal, though, and he goes in and he blasts the servant of darkness with his electrical powers, knocks her back out, and he falls over. And then we get later, he's back resting, and we haven't actually solved the problem. And she's basically like, as best I can tell, the stress made his own powers backfire on him, sending electrical signals back into his brain that increased his strain, uh, his treatment, and finally made him collapse. So they're making it worse, and we don't know what's happening there. Uh, but they opine that it's been a while since either of them were leaders because they were the first two leaders of the legion. And then they show us at the end of the story that dream girl actually was elected leader, which we knew from last issue because they told us in the letter column. Yeah, they probably should have waited till this letter column to tell us that. [00:54:59] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. [00:55:01] Speaker B: But, you know, and you get some more of the symbols there, a bunch of them. You get bouncing boy down there. See the little bouncing ball? Yeah. Now, I don't know what that one next to him is. Is that the symbol for the headquarters, the forces? [00:55:16] Speaker A: Yeah. So Fortress slide. [00:55:19] Speaker B: No, I think that's actually. I think that's princess projectora. And I know you're making a joke from one we did before, but I don't want to talk about that story again. [00:55:28] Speaker A: Okay. [00:55:28] Speaker B: So, yeah, yeah. Like, ever. So, yeah, I get mad when people talk about it online. So, anyway. Yeah, yeah, it's good. [00:55:39] Speaker A: It's wrapped up. It's done, the whole thing. [00:55:40] Speaker B: Yeah, well, but it's not done because we still got part of it's wrapped up, but we still got. We've still got lightning lad on the. On the sidelines, which I don't like. [00:55:48] Speaker A: Yeah, well, he'll get back. He'll get back on his feet soon enough, Dan. He's lightning, ladies. [00:55:53] Speaker B: It'll be very soon because it'll be next issue. So. [00:55:56] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. I mean, next issue. [00:55:58] Speaker B: Spoiler. [00:55:58] Speaker A: And then all of a sudden, bing. Perfect. Just like that. [00:56:02] Speaker B: But I do like it, too, because the founders are at the headquarters court of running things, so that's good. Yep. And, yep, it's good. So, you know, I'll go ahead and wrap up this podcast because, you know, Greg's doing something. He's taking phone calls in the middle of the podcast, which is always useful when Greg takes robocalls in the middle of the podcast, it's always great. And there are a couple things you can always get from Greg as we're wrapping up. You could always go and click on the link I give you and get a copy of Absolute Zero's camp launchpad. But I'll speak for Greg because he's taking personal calls right now. Oh, you're back. Okay. And then it wouldn't be a podcast without a legion meeting or a phone call for Greg to answer. So we've also got that going on. Greg's and Mike are doing a bunch of book signings too, at various times. If you follow the retro emporium on Facebook or, or Insta, you'll find out when those are happening. We also are awaiting starlight number six. Unfortunately there's a delay. Cause a bunch of comics came damaged. So Travis taking care of that at Travis Webb, the co author. And we'll get some of those soon. That just means the launch for seven is going to be delayed a little bit. So we will let you know when that is going on. If you go to Kickstarter right now, you can hit the button. If you look for Starlight, you can hit the button. It's going to tell you when that launches and you can get caught back up. And of course we have to plug. Well, we don't. Well, actually, I think we're obligated to for some reason. So, yeah, we should obviously plug Project Dash nerd.com, where you can find some things. If I go to Project dashner.com right now, I can find some things like funny book forensics. Yeah. And some press play to listen. [00:57:52] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:57:52] Speaker B: Yeah. So I can also find resources about like cosplay. [00:57:57] Speaker A: Cosplay, they have great news articles sometimes books and things. Fun memes. They do coverage of conventions and they check out different events that are happening around. [00:58:10] Speaker B: All kind of. You should just follow them because they're great. [00:58:13] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:58:14] Speaker B: So, yeah. Other than that, do you have anything else to say? Cause I think we're probably done in getting ready for the next issue. 292 92. Yeah. [00:58:26] Speaker A: I think you've covered every, I mean, you, you talked for me and I appreciate that. Dan. That left me not having to say very, very much. And I was like, ah, thank you so much. [00:58:36] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. I mean, that's how we end these things. So thanking, thanking me, thanking the fans. Thanking everyone. [00:58:41] Speaker A: Thank you. I think the fans, I think everybody really. Appreciation all around. It is. It's fantastic. From the bottom. [00:58:52] Speaker B: I'd like to thank Grimbor for his participation in this contest. Contest. Con. [00:58:57] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:58:58] Speaker B: Contest. Contest. Yeah. It was a good contest. [00:59:08] Speaker A: I don't know what the contest is. [00:59:09] Speaker B: About, but apparently masters slaves, I mean, good things, you know, it was fantastic. Yeah, yeah, exactly. So, well, let's wrap this one up. But we look forward to continue the discussion of the great darkness saga with you. And hopefully you start reading along because it's actually good. [00:59:33] Speaker A: It's a humdinger of a book and. [00:59:35] Speaker B: Maybe a legionnaire will die. Greg. [00:59:37] Speaker A: Oh, gosh. Will it be lightning boy? Lightning boy? [00:59:41] Speaker B: Lightning boy. All right. Yep. We're done. All right, I'm out. Goodbye. Thanks for listening. [00:59:49] Speaker A: Oh, boy.
